Wilkor Computing Services Inc. offers general computing and consulting services for server-based solutions. Wilkor specializes in services for VAX/VMS or OpenVMS on VAX, Alpha, and Integrity (Itanium) platforms. We also offer services for most UNIX-based systems. Located in Alberta, Wilkor offers services within the province and throughout western Canada. Categories of Consulting ServicesIncident ResponseWilkor offers emergency response to incidents and problems occurring in most service areas including but not limited to
Emergency services are offered at hourly, daily. and weekly rates. The rates are dependent on the type, severity, and urgency of the problem. Consideration is given to returning clients and clients with service agreements. Service ProjectsIn response to requests from clients, and sometimes as a consequence of an Incident Response, a specific task or "project" may be identified by either the client or by Wilkor.Service Projects are undertaken by Wilkor either at a fixed cost per project, or at a rate agreed to before the project begins. The charge for all projects are determined on an individual basis. Service AgreementsWilkor offers Service Agreements to provide proactive, preventive services that include monitoring and certain casual services (such as system tuning or the installation and upgrades of selected software products).Service agreements often augment the client's operations by providing expert support in certain areas of systems and network management and operations. Wilkor works with the operations staff to design a cost-effective agreement that supplements operations with timely, expert services, thereby affording the most effective use of the client's operations staff. Clients with Service Agreements are charged a nominal fee per month for a basic level of service (established at the start of the agreement), with additional preset charges for Incident Responses or Service Projects beyond the scope of the Agreement. System Consulting ServicesOpenVMS System Management and OperationsWilkor offers a comprehensive set of alternate methods for the management and operations of OpenVMS and VAX/VMS systems. Migration of OpenVMS to new platformsWilkor can help determine if migration of OpenVMS to faster, less-expensive platforms is cost-effective, and whether the current applications and procedures will operate in the new systems. Wilkor can perform the migration or assist the organizations' operations staff with the migration.With experience in both migration of single systems and VMSclusters, Wilkor offers an understanding of OpenVMS that can readily predict and identify issues to be addressed during the migration. OpenVMS Installation and UpgradesFor both new and existing OpenVMS and VAX/VMS sites, Wilkor can effectively perform installations and upgrades of OpenVMS applications.
